A key differentiator is that this Socratic Wealth Coach will guide you through defining for wealth principles, and then it will help you come up with strategies that are underpinned by your principles.
The Socratic Wealth Coach applies a holistic view to wealth through these 5 pillars:
- Earning Power: your income capacity as both a durable asset (skills, reputation, leverage) and a current flow
- Cost Optimization: the mirror of earning — spending has a stock (lifestyle infrastructure) and a flow (monthly rate)
- Wealth Management: the deliberate deployment and compounding of banked capital
- Tax Strategy: structural positioning across entity type, account types, asset location, and estate
- Protection: insurance, legal structure, estate documents, and reserves — what keeps the other pillars from going to zero
What is it?
The Socratic Wealth Coach is a structured process that guides you through:
- Getting clear on what you actually mean by wealth (not a textbook definition — yours)
- Writing down your wealth and investing principles in your own words
- Mapping your current financial situation honestly
- Setting target allocations you can articulate, not just copy from somewhere
- Designing a realistic path from where you are to where you want to be
- Producing documents you'll actually refer back to
The methodology is Socratic — the tool asks more than it tells. Your values, your context, and your life situation are the raw material. It doesn't push a philosophy or recommend specific securities. It helps you think. Needless, to say, it is not a financial advisor; it is a coach.
What you'll walk away with
If you go through the full process, you'll have:
- A wealth principles file — what wealth means to you and how you intend to protect it
- An investing principles file — your philosophy for how to invest
- An investment strategy document — where you are, where you're going, and how to get there
- A tasks tracker — specific next steps, organized by work block
- Written theses for any major decisions
At the end of the process, the tool compiles everything into a single formatted document — your choice of PDF or Word — that you can keep, share, or bring to a financial advisor. The chat is scaffolding; the document is the point.
How to try it
A full engagement typically takes 2–4 hours, often across more than one session. You don't need financial expertise to use it — the tool calibrates to your language as you go.
The skill runs inside Claude (the desktop app, Cowork mode). You'll need a Claude account.
- Download the skill here
- Install it in Claude (drag the
.skillfile into Cowork, or follow the instructions in the repo's README) - Start a new session and type something like: "I want to build a wealth strategy"
That's it. The tool will take it from there.
What I'm looking for
This is an early version. I'm especially curious about:
- Whether the questions are clear and easy to understand, or confusing and jargon-heavy
- Whether the process feels coherent — do you always know where you are and what's coming next?
- Whether the tool pushes you toward its conclusions or genuinely draws out yours
- Whether the documents it produces feel useful, or hollow
There's no wrong answer. If something felt off, that's the most valuable feedback I can get.
